The Mail Package

I’m a list of demands she’s sending into the universe.
Sometimes feeling like another accessory, like the shit she puts in her purse.

From the looks of it she should find a star and wish upon it.
Let’s see, height(check) melanin(check)facial hair...Ehn...I’m workin' on it.

Everything comes with a price. Do your quick scan and pay close attention to the register.
It’s delivery upon request so there’s no return to sender.

A questionable longing for rugged packaging but fragile contents is what’s desired.
There will be no messenger bird for this delivery. That method has long been retired.

A flawless box with no smeared labels represents perfection.
Unfortunately what’s inside is what may require the most correction.
Is it correction that’s necessary or is it attention, that’s left to the recipient's discretion.

There’s no way to expedite the feels once the request has been fulfilled. Hopefully she gets what she needs and not what she wants just as a prescription was filled.

Faced Up

Complex and prone to overthinking
Recognizing that keeping things simple
Is the medicinal ointment for my ailment.
I’m open to you, for you
I reapply my salve daily
To keep my heart safe.
It makes me uneasy
But I know it’s necessary
Especially when the Ace of Hearts
Starts my royal flush
And I’m showing you my hand
It’s faced up
On the table.

I’m seeing no cards of His.
He’s like a magician
Doing cards tricks.
Now you see them,
Now you don’t.
His smiles blind me
His hands melt my cold nature
I’m drawn in by his illusions.
Move by move,
When he talks
And when he’s silent
I watch looking for answers
I can’t figure out how it works
I’m amazed and astonished
Though the lack of understanding
Makes me push away
Wanting to protect my heart suite.
Yet I’m still intrigued,
So I come back to the table
With my flush in plain sight
It remains
Carefully and wonderfully placed
On display
But does he see it?
He has to see it.
Does it matter?

My cards ♦️♥️ ♠️
They are here, you can see them
Touch them
Ask me about them
Shuffle them if you’d like
But please...
No fancy card tricks
Not with these
And whatever you do
don’t make them disappear.
